Applying for residence at Villa Leonardo Gambin is done through the local Community Care Access Centre (CCAC) which is an agency of the province of Ontario. One must contact the CCAC in your area and ask to complete an application for Long Term Care. A nurse or social worker will then come to the house and complete an application form. Based on these results the CCAC will determine if the applicant is eligible for admission into long term care. If the applicant is eligible, he/she will then be placed on the wait list, which is controlled by the CCAC.
The residence’s Private Room and Basic Room monthly rates are set by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. These rates cover the costs of food, laundry, programs, linens, towels, soap, shampoo, briefs, etc. There are also unfunded services that are not part of the monthly rate and these include telephone, cable, hairdressing, footcare and esthetic services and others as discussed upon admission.
