Front Desk

Visitors are welcome at the Villa Leonardo Gambin Residence. Visiting hours are from 8:00am until 9:00pm daily and to ensure the safety of all (residents, visitors and staff) you must sign-in when entering the home and sign-out when exiting.

Valuables

Due to fire and safety regulations, resident rooms cannot be locked.  We are unable to ensure residents valuables (jewellery, collector items, etc.) from breakage or loss.  Therefore do not bring in articles of value. The Memory Boxes provided may be used to store favourite keepsakes safely.

Lost and Found

If a family member or resident believes an item has been lost or missing, they must first report it to the Charge Nurse.

Emergency

If a family member, visitor or resident believe there is an emergency please remain calm and notify the Charge Nurse by using the call bell or proceed to the Nursing Station.  In an emergency, staff will provide direction to the family and/or visitors.  If you are visiting during a Fire Drill please cooperate with the requests of staff members during emergencies. There may be several important reasons why a request is made of you immediately, with little time for a full explanation.   Fire exits are clearly indicated within the facility.

If you hear a Fire Alarm, stay with the resident you are visiting, close doors to the area you are in to help keep smoke and fire out and follow alarm instructions for residents and await further instructions from staff.

If you discover a fire or an emergency assist anyone in immediate danger to move to a safe area and remain there, notify the Charge Nurse or Duty Manager and await further instructions.

Staff Identification

There is a dress code for Villa Leonardo Gambin staff members.  Staff wear a white or cream coloured shirt with a Villa Leonardo Gambin logo.  Staff also wear a name tag on a lanyard around there necks to identify themselves.

Resident Identification

Some residents wear an identifying bracelet with the name of the residence, their name, room number and allergies.  Another primary method of identification is a resident photo ID on their MARS and on their electrical chart.
